A creature’s coat of many kaleidoscopic colors is thanks to the recycled material called surfite from the surf board making process. It’s a joy to notice the black, orange, green, red, white, burgundy and blue hues in this approximate 3 1/4″ long, 1/2″ wide and 1 3/8″ tall turquoise-eyed Bear by Evalena Boone. She descends from the important Teddy Weahkee (d) family of Zuni Pueblo artists. Evalena’s mother is Lena Boone, and her grandmother was Edna Leki (d). Evalena’s brother is carver Leland Boone.
