Scientists believe bears have an innate appreciation for nature and in fact, have often been spotted admiring the scenery. For example, grizzly bears frequently climb to high places, such as rocks and mountain peaks, to relax and gaze at the landscape for hours. Indigenous science teaches animals have an interiority and complex emotions. This Bear seems to be doing just that. Carved out of Picasso marble by Maegan Shetima with a peaceful expression and cheerful eyes of inlaid turquoise. At about 2 3/4″ long, 1 1/2″ wide and 1″ tall this bruin friend reminds us to stop and appreciate the view.
