Iridescent smokey mother-of-pearl shell is a beautiful palette for a powerful Bear and Corn-maidens. The shell’s natural ombre of soft white to dusky brown is like morning to evening in Zuni Pueblo. Facial features are incised and filled with jet paste. Cornadorns their bodies. Incised stars and Dragonflies dance around in this approximately 2 7/8″ tall, 2 5/8″ wide and 5/8″ deep slightly convex carving by Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez.
