Dolphins joyfully swim the world’s oceans. Nautical lore is full of stories of them helping humans and other aquatic animals. In New Zealand, witnesses saw two pygmy sperm whales beached. Locals did their best to help them back out to sea but without success. That’s when a bottlenose dolphin known as Moko came to the rescue. They said Moko communicated with the beached whales who became calm and listened to the dolphin who directed them straight out to sea.
