Loren Tsalabutie is mentoring his mother Sherdine Tsatte who is well on her way carving wonderful stone animals. A latest offering is a vibrant lapis lazuli Bobcat with turquoise inlaid eyes. We love this wildcat’s ruffed face and hopeful expression. The lapis has lovely bits of pyrite inclusions. A treasured semi-precious opaque gemstone, colorful lapis has been adored throughout mankind’s history. The ancient cultures of Egypt, China, Rome and Greece among others, have used this colorful material in all sorts of ways. About 1 5/8″ long, 1/2″ wide and 7/8″ tall.
