Herbert Halate’s observant bushytail (Coyote, Fox or Wolf) is carved from a pipestone which is actually fossilized clay. Avibrant turquoise point offering bundle is given in thanks for wild canine medicine and is complemented by inlaid eyes of the same turquoise. About 3″ long, 3/4″ wide and 7/8″ tall. Herbert’s father was noted artist Leonard Halate who started producing stone animal carvings in the 1940’s. Herbert and his siblings, Reva Halate, Marvelita Phillips and Pansy Natachu, continue the tradition.
