Ray Tsalate’s old-style Eagle is masterfully carved of antler, about 2 1/2″ long, 1″ tall and 1 1/8″ wide. An “X” shaped inlay of mother-of-pearl and pen shell represents wings, decorated with variscite pieces. Ray also inlaid lapis side wings and colorful tail feather accents of red coral, malachite, sugilite and orange spiny oyster shell. Seeing everything, this exquisite raptor has one eye of variscite, while the other is of lapis.
