Burt Awelagte’s poised Mountain-lion (puma, panther, leopard or cougar) guards territorial boundaries through turquoise inlaid eyes. This fetish with a warm presence is a nice size at approximately 5″ long, 1 1/4″ wide and 2″ tall, carved from rich leopard marble. Burt is from the greater Othole family of accomplished Zuni Pueblo fetish carvers. His uncle is renowned carver Gibbs Othole.
