Incredible Zuni fluorite is found locally on the Zuni Pueblo reservation. Fred Bowannie, Jr. loves carving with natural indigenous materials as evident in a hunting cougar (Mountain-lion, puma or panther) from Zuni fluorite. The mineral has natural features that elegantly contrast, complimenting the body of the feline. Eyes are from pen shell inlays, while a fixed offering necklace is laced with colorful red coral, turquoise and spiny oyster shell beads. About 3 1/8″ long, 5/8″ wide and 1 3/8″ tall.
